Information
Historic urban places matter economically, environmentally and socially. But more than that, people love historic places in towns and cities. But why?
New research is throwing light on the significance of emotion and emotional attachments in understanding why historic urban places matter.
In this webinar Professor Rebecca Madgin, Urban Studies, University of Glasgow, will present the concept of personalities of historic places, an idea that goes beyond the built fabric, architectural value and historic value, to help us understand the relationships that people have with old places.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion with representatives from organisations involved in the management of heritage places and historic urban environments
