Money for Nothing? Citizens’ Basic Income: Ending poverty or a licence to do nothing
The Edinburgh Active Citizenship Group regularly holds large scale, participatory public seminars on topical issues related to citizenship. Anyone is welcome to attend the events and there is no charge. The Group organising committee includes members of organisations such as Global Justice Now, the City of Edinburgh Council’s Community Learning & Development and the University of Edinburgh.
At this event, we’ll hear from expert speakers including Annie Miller (formerly Heriot-Watt University). We’ll then discuss:
Q1 – What is citizens’ basic income and how does it work?
Q2 – What are the opportunities and problems it presents?
Q3 – How could it tackle poverty and inequality?
