Immerse yourself in the world of Robert Burns in this unique event which brings together for the first time several exciting art and VR collaborations led by the Centre for Robert Burns Studies (CRBS). Joined by Scottish artist and Royal Academician, David Mach – whose specially commissioned collage ‘The Flying Haggis’ has been curated in an immersive virtual environment – members of the CRBS, Edify and ARC-XR teams will discuss their collaboration and the possibilities that arise when we engage with Burns and his legacy in art and VR.

You will also have the chance to view ‘The Flying Haggis’ in situ for the first time, and to experience live communal demonstrations of ‘The Art of the Burns Supper’ and ‘Tam o’ Shanter’ immersive environments.

Dr Tim Peacock will also be joining us to demonstrate the Ellisland minecraft game.

Please note: we can only offer a limited number of fully immersive experiences, which will be bookable on a first come, first served basis. Communal demonstrations of the environments will be included as part of the evening’s main presentations.

The talk will run from 6-7pm, with the option to stay on for demonstrations until 9pm.
