Information
Africa in Motion (AiM) is a film festival that brings the best of African and Black diaspora cinema to Scotland. In partnership with Black Scottish Adventurers, come for a specially curated screening of short films, a Q&A discussion about access to nature and well-being benefits for ethnic minority communities, food, and networking.
Films:
Brotherhood of Skiing (10 min) – Since 1973, these annual summits, which unite African-American ski clubs, are fundraisers for youth programs to pass the love of skiing down to the next generation. First born of necessity — safety in numbers in the aftermath of the civil rights movement — four decades later, the Brotherhood of Skiers is still creating a safe space and upending stereotypes.
Taking on the Ramsey Round (34 min) – Join Black Trail Runners as they take on the epic challenge of completing the renowned Ramsay Round in the Scottish Highlands. Created by Black mountain runner Charlie Ramsay, the round comprises 56 miles, 28,500ft and climbing 23 Munros over 3,000ft in height – including Ben Nevis.
Recommended age: This event is for adults (16 and over) but families are welcome with parental discretion, the films being shown are rated PG.
